Sleeping Beauties

This is my second entry for this contest (since we are allowed up to 3...I am not sure it this counts as 2 entries or one since I used 2 characters from different stories.. )

I have always liked the stories of the beauties who sleep because they are always in that dead/coma-like state from something that seems so harmless but turned so deadly. Like a spindle or an apple. This was my first time drawing a spindle and the only picture I could find of it, had the spindle facing the other direction and I needed it this direction..so if it looks weird, that's why. The reason for the apple bleeding as the spindle needle pokes through it, and the apple being peeled and use for string, is to show the irony of both and that it is harmful..in some weird conceptual way..I don't know how to explain it really.

I know I messed up on lots of parts but generally I think it turned out great...I do find it really funny that in all my thumbnails, Aurora turned out awesome and I kept messing up on Snow White...yet in the finished product, it's quite the opposite. XD I had to take a picture since I still haven't replaced my scanner..so it does look weird. I don't know why there is this weird angle thing going on, probably because I drew the image in my sketch book and not on a piece of paper... :/
